Agentic AI & Financial Data Sharing

The work is already underway

As AI agents move toward more autonomous and persistent interactions, new questions are emerging around consent, identity, traceability, and how financial data is interpreted and used.

Through the Agentic AI Task Force, FDX members are actively working through these questions now. At FDX Global Summit 2027, attendees will hear how this work is developing, where open questions remain, and what agentic AI may require of permissioned financial data sharing. Several workstreams have emerged from the Task Force’s latest discussions:

Data Semantics

Some fields in financial data APIs are loosely defined. This workstream is examining where clearer definitions may be needed to support more consistent interpretation by agents and inform future semantic RFCs.

Agent Tooling Interfaces

General-purpose agent protocols such as MCP were not built specifically for financial data. This workstream is examining how they work alongside FDX authorization, consent and identity standards, and where guidance, profiles or extensions may be needed.
