FDX Announces Spring 2025 API Release – FDX API Version 6.4

Financial Data Exchange (FDX) has released the Spring 2025 edition of its financial data sharing API, FDX API v6.4. Developed by a diverse membership, this latest release introduces notable technical updates and documentation enhancements that support continued market innovation and interoperability.

Version 6.4 incorporates 24 new RFCs and includes:

  • Updates to YAML data structures to support greater flexibility and clarity in implementation.
  • The new CSDF Security Model and Profile aligned with current market practices.
  • Revised FDX User Experience Guidelines, designed to improve consumer clarity and consistency.
  • A Consent API Behavioral Specification, which adds implementation-level detail for handling user permissions and consent events.
  • A new FDX Consensus Standard Data Format (CSDF) v1, a tailored set of requirements relevant for demonstrating indicia of compliance with data formatting requirements in the CFPB’s Personal Financial Data Rights Rulemaking

These updates reflect ongoing industry collaboration and are designed to help build API solutions that align with emerging data access expectations—whether regulatory or market-driven.
