Durable Data API
Under FDX, DDA will work in combination with specific frameworks governing data sharing, secure authentication, data semantics, and syntax. These elements together will do for the financial data sharing ecosystem what the Bluetooth Core Specification, did for connecting devices wirelessly, providing standardization that will make it easier and safer for consumers to use financial data and apps to make good decisions.
The DDA acts as the intermediary between integrators (financial institutions) and implementers (aggregators, fintechs) for the benefit of the end user. For example:
- A customer may have a budgeting app they want to populate with all their financial data to understand their spending power
- Users of wealth management apps may wish to look at performance across all their accounts and portfolios
- Someone who employs a monitoring service that looks for suspicious activity will need to grant permission to access their transaction data
- Organizations considering lending to a customer may need access to verify a borrower's assets or income
Whatever the use-case, FDX makes it seamless and secure for the customer and predictable for the industry, while ensuring members of industry can focus their energy where it has the most impact
